The organisers are pleased to provide the scientific programme and further information for the Eurachem International Workshop on "Uncertainty from sampling and analysis for accredited laboratories". The programme includes presentations on accreditation issues and on taking account of measurement uncertainty in decision rules for conformity assessment. The workshop is kindly hosted by BAM at BAM headquarters, Unter den Eichen, Berlin, Germany,on 19-20 November 2019.

Thanks to hard work from our colleagues at Eurachem-España and Eurolab-España, the Eurachem guide "Setting and Using Target Uncertainty in Chemical Measurement" is now available for download from the Eurachem site in Spanish.
The guide shows how to set a maximum admissible uncertainty, or “target uncertainty”, to check whether the measurement uncertainty is fit for the intended purpose.

Thanks to our colleagues at Eurolab-D in Germany, the Eurachem information leaflet "Traceability of Analytical Results" is now additionally available in German. The leaflet gives a short introduction to the the topic of metrological traceability.

The 2nd edition of the guide ‘The Fitness for Purpose of Analytical Methods: A Laboratory Guide to Method Validation and Related Topics’ was published in 2014. Eurachem guides are reviewed five years after publication to assess the need for revision. As part of this process the Method Validation Working Group is seeking feedback from users of the guide.

The Eurachem Method Validation Working Group is pleased to announce a new, short, guide to the use of blanks in method validation. This is a short supplement to our guide on Method validation, and describes the different types of blanks which may be used during method validation. It provides guidance for validation in situations where it may be difficult to obtain a suitable blank matrix.

Thanks to the efforts of our Eurachem colleagues in Georgia, the Eurachem Proficiency Testing WG's information leaflet the information leaflet "Proficiency testing - how much and how often?" is now available in Georgian. The leaflet helps laboratories select the right balance of areas of work and participation frequency.
