The Eurachem measurement uncertainty and traceability working group has released a new information leaflet, "Using repeated measurements to improve the standard uncertainty", covering the often thorny subject of when, and when not, to divide by sqrt(n) in order to calculate the standard uncertainty arising from random variation.
