ILAC Update for Eurachem - November 2025

Establishment of Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated

In 2019, the members of IAF and ILAC made the decision to establish a single international organisation for accreditation, to replace IAF and ILAC. Following extensive work, on 6 December 2024 the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated was officially registered as a legal entity and was incorporated in New Zealand. This milestone marks a pivotal step in the journey toward a single international organisation for accreditation. More information is available here.

The Second General Assembly meeting of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated was held in Bangkok, Thailand with major outcomes including the election of the new Chair (Mr. Brahim Houla of GCC Accreditation Center) and Vice Chair (Mr. Emanuele Riva of Accredia, Italy), approval of new members and approval of operational documents.  More information is available here.

On 1 January 2026 Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated will become fully operational and to take on the roles of IAF and ILAC.
