CROLAB hold International Conference on Laboratory Competence
CROLAB's 20th International Conference on Laboratory Competence took place in Zadar from November 12 to 14, 2025. The conference emphasised the crucial role of laboratories in testing and inspection across the EU. It aimed to foster collaboration among laboratories, regulatory bodies, and neighbouring countries. The event featured lectures, poster presentations, and workshops, attracting over 150 participants. Notable speakers included Andreas Kinzel and Laura Martin from EUROLAB, who presented a strategic approach for the future of EUROLAB.
The conference served as a platform for active participation and knowledge exchange on various topics, including interlaboratory testing, synergies among standards, challenges in implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in laboratories, conformity assessments, and EURAMET metrology research programs. Key round table discussions focused on connecting science, practice, and the market, as well as the role of artificial tools in supporting laboratories. A notable workshop addressed the idea that "the enemy of the best is not bad, but good." The poster session attracted many attendees, and sponsors and exhibitors displayed their products throughout the event. The conference concluded with a forum on recent developments and challenges in accreditation.
