Terms of Reference
  1. The EURACHEM General Assembly has been established to provide a focus for analytical chemistry and quality issues in Europe.
  2. The EURACHEM General Assembly will provide a forum for the exchange of information and the development of a considered opinion on issues affecting the practice of chemical measurement.
  3. The EURACHEM General Assembly will provide a framework in which analysts can collaborate on tasks of mutual interest to promote good quality practices, to improve the quality and the mutual recognition of analytical data and develop a common approach to solving technical problems.
  4. The EURACHEM General Assembly will work to improve the international comparability of analytical data through the establishment of a system for the international traceability of chemical measurements.
  5. The EURACHEM General Assembly will champion the adoption of the common principles of valid analytical measurement and, in particular, promote:
  6. The EURACHEM General Assembly shall direct the affairs of EURACHEM in accordance with the constitution agreed in the EURACHEM Memorandum of Understanding.
  7. The EURACHEM General Assembly will establish working groups as required to address specific issues and undertake specific tasks. The continued need for each Working Group will be reviewed every 2 years.
